Hans Davidsson

Zazi Fellow

Hans Davidsson has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the telecommunications industry.

As a Managing Partner of IdeaEdge Ventures, a California-based seed investment and venture development group, Davidsson has had the opportunity to create, fund and operationally manage several start-up companies in the mobile Internet space. At this time he serves as the CEO and Chairman of Aerial Broadband, a broadband technology supplier focused on mesh network solutions.

Prior to joining IdeaEdge Ventures, Davidsson was the Vice President for Ericsson Internet Applications and Solutions, an organization charged with the task of defining and building new businesses in the intersection of wireless and computing.

Starting in 1995, Davidsson was an active leader contributing to the fast-paced expansion of the Consumer Division of Ericsson, initially as a global R&D Director, and later as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for products new to the American market.

In 1992, Davidsson was appointed General Manager of Ericsson Access Products, where he directed all business, product and technical functions of the organization, consolidating a multi-billion-dollar business. Prior to that, he was the head of Product Management and Marketing Support for Ericsson’s UK region.

From 1986 to 1990 Davidsson resided in the UK where he led the R&D project management office responsible for the British Telecom deployment of Ericsson’s proprietary switch architecture, AXE. In addition, he managed Ericsson’s UK software division.

Before joining Ericsson in 1982, Davidsson worked as an electrical engineer at Siemens.

Davidsson serves on several Boards around the world, including Aerial Broadband Inc, AsiaCorp Ltd, M7 Networks Inc, and Motion Venture LLC. He recently became a Fellow in the Zazi Forum, a group of technology experts from industry and government focused on large, multi-disciplinary problems of national importance. He is also an active board member of the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in the Carolinas. Furthermore, Davidsson advises several start-up companies in the emerging mobile Internet industry.

In 1980, Davidsson received a Master of Science degree in Industrial Management and Engineering from the University of Linkoping Institute of Technology, Sweden.
